Manitou Spring Mayor Welcome

Our city of 5000 residents is nestled just a few miles west of Colorado Springs and was settled in the 1870's. The town became known by visitors for the mineral springs that continue to run in various fountains thru out the downtown area. The springs were considered a medical opportunity for a variety of illnesses that plagued people during that era. The 6,000 foot elevation and invigorating air quality also attract others for living conditions.

Today, scenic features continue to draw many visitors especially during the summer and fall seasons. However, our business community is actively promoting year round activities to entice visitors with special events as well as seeking new businesses to relocate in our historic downtown area. There are a multitude of fine restaurants, bed and breakfasts and classic motels, as well as the opportunity to be near hiking and biking trails on our nearby hillsides that are just a stone's throw away.

Our City Council strongly supports the diverse elements of our city with enthusiasm because we know that we represent a very unique Colorado Community.
